Dance Guidelines
Our intention is to create a safe space for all who join the dance. It takes each person to co-create that reality. Below are our guidelines, these are the rules within which we play <3
Open mind & open hearts welcomed.
Talk outside, not on the dance floor
We’re all about community! Talking and socializing is strongly encouraged in our outside space, but we ask that you keep the dance floor a chatter-free space.
Sound is OK on the dance floor. Feel like stomping your feet? Hollering for joy after a great drop? Go for it! Just be mindful of others’ experience.
Keep devices off of the dance floor
We encourage disconnecting from your electronic devices for your entire dance experience. If you must use them, please do so outside.
Leave your shoes, food and drinks at the door
Dance barefoot or in socks unless you have a medical need for shoes. If you have a medical need, please be sure the soles of you shoes are clean.
Food can be eaten outside.
Water bottles with a lid are OK inside.
Obtain consent before dancing with others
We love communal dancing. Consent can be obtained via eye contact, clear body language, or a simple thumbs up. This is necessary for any kind of partner dancing, even without physical touch.
Talking to obtain consent to dance is OK.
What happens at the dance stays at the dance
Please no videos or pictures so everyone feels safe to express themselves fully.
Anything personal that is shared at closing circle should stay within that circle.
Remain sober
Please do not partake in any substance inside or outside. Also please do not arrive intoxicated in any way.
Keep an eye on Keiki
We love having Keiki on the dance floor! Please make sure you have an eye on them at all times, and help them refrain from running, rough housing, or talking on the dance floor.
